Dan Rafael: Bivol And Beterbiev Agree Fight Date

Dan Rafael has confirmed that Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev are looking to fight on June 1, 2024.

The Undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship is up for grabs following their recent wins. Bivol successfully defended his WBA Light Heavyweight Title for the 11th time, beating Lyndon Arthur unanimously. Beterbiev followed up that win by stopping Callum Smith in the seventh round to retain his WBC, WBO and IBF Belts. Both boxers are undefeated as a fight seems inevitable. Reports confirmed that Bivol had signed on the dotted line for the fight.

Bob Arum shut down those claims but maintained his belief that a fight would happen.

“No, it’s not done yet but absolutely, we want to do it. I’ll be talking to my friend, his excellency, Turki Alalshikh. I know he wants to do it, but Ramadan is coming. So Ramadan ends sometime in the middle of April so three months after the end of Ramadan we’ll be ready to fight Bivol probably in Riyadh,” Arum said

Barring any injuries, Bivol and Beterbiev have no other credible opponents in the division, setting up a fight to decide the best light heavyweight of this era.
