Dana Against UFC Going Public
For the first time in the 25 year history of the UFC, you may be able to own a piece of the company, which is not something Dana White wants.
Speaking with CBS 8 in Las Vegas, the UFC President spoke about his issues with the UFC’s parent company Endeavor being traded publicly.
I’ve never been a fan of the UFC going public,” White said in the video above.
“Can you picture me running a public company? No, I can’t either. Let’s take some bets on how long I’ll last in a public company. What’s the over-under on that one?”
White, who has run the UFC for nearly 20 years, has kept a tight-lid on much of the company’s Pay-Per-View gates and other financial information throughout his tenure as the head of the organization.
The UFC president has also been more outspoken than any sports executive in modern memory, going after journalists, referees, and even his own fighters in the press and on social media for things he’s not liked.
With the parent company of the UFC looking to go on the market, White may reconsider the seven-year extension he signed in March.
