Dana: Cormier-Lesnar Unlikely

While Brock Lesnar’s advocate, Paul Heyman mentioned that he and Lesnar were getting on a plane to Las Vegas during WWE’s Wrestlemania, he seems to have not met up with UFC President Dana White.

During Friday’s press conference to announce upcoming UFC events on ESPN/ESPN+, White admitted that a potential heavyweight showdown between Lesnar and UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier seems to be evaporating.

“That fight isn’t even in the works,” UFC President Dana White said of a Lesnar-Cormier matchup. “That fight might not even happen first.”

“Nothing happened. We haven’t even talked to Brock,” White contended. “We don’t have a date for him right now. The first fight might be Stipe.”

In-regards to Cormier and his health, White said the champion is taking his time to get back. “As soon as he’s healthy to fight, we can make a decision on when we’re going to do him and Stipe,” White said.

“When Brock Lesnar’s ready, he’ll call me,” White continued to say about the former UFC champion.

With Miocic the top contender for Cormier,  it would mark the former heavyweight champion’s first fight since losing in the first round to Cormier in July 2018.
