Dana: GSP Won’t Face Conor-Khabib Winner

Georges St-Pierre wants a shot at whoever the UFC lightweight champion is after UFC 229, Dana White is not a fan of the idea.

White, who has a rocky relationship with St-Pierre, claimed that if GSP wanted to return from his most recent medical issues and fight at lightweight, he must show he can make weight and win a fight in the division.

“Yeah, that’s probably not going to happen,” White told reporters following his Contender Series 16 event Tuesday night. “He gave up the 170-pound belt, he gave up the 185-pound belt. I mean it’s like – no. Pick a division.”

White isn’t chomping at the bit to give GSP a title shot against current lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov or Conor McGregor, but would welcome him back for a fight at UFC 231 on December 8th in Toronto.

“No, we haven’t talked, but it sounds like we will,” White said. “Toronto makes sense. Toronto wouldn’t be bad.”
