Dana: Lesnar Retired From MMA, DC To Fight Stipe

Brock Lesnar will not be returning to the UFC, as the former UFC heavyweight champion will be retiring according to UFC President Dana White.

Lesnar had been in-line for a fight with current UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier since Cormier won the title in July of last year, knocking out Stipe Miocic.

White was told by Lesnar that “he’s done” with the sport, after attempting to return after a three-year layoff in a no-contest fight with Mark Hunt at UFC 200.

Now, with Lesnar walking away from Mixed Martial Arts, Cormier will now have a rematch with Miocic on August 17th at the Honda Center in Anaheim.

While the fight has been made official, both fighters have verbally agreed to the fight and are finalizing terms.

“I’m ready,” Miocic told ESPN. “I’ve been ready. And I’m going to take back what’s mine.”
