Dana On Conor Being “Too Rich To Fight”

Who will face Dustin Poirier or Khabib Nurmagomedov after UFC 242?

Many in the MMA world, including UFC president Dana White really have no idea what the future holds for the lightweight division after interim champion Poirier and undisputed champion Nurmagomedov unify in Abu Dhabi.

“Khabib is fighting Dustin Poirier in Abu Dhabi in September,” White told LVSportsBiz Guerrilla Cross Radio.

“Then I don’t know, we’ll see. Tony Ferguson just came off a great win this weekend over ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone, and I’m assuming he’s next.”

One potential option if not Ferguson is Conor McGregor, who has claimed retirement earlier this year, but has been training and negotiating for a comeback ever since an early morning tweet in March announcing he was done.

“We’ll see what happens with Conor – what Conor wants to do,” White said.

“Conor is super rich. It’s hard to get guys to fight when they’re super rich.”
