Dana Refuses To Let Liddell Fight In UFC

Over the past week, both Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz have showed interest in a third fight between the two in the UFC, with Ortiz going as far to say he spoke with UFC matchmakers about making this fight happen.

While UFC President Dana White is flirting with the idea of bringing Brock Lesnar back, White told TMZ Sports that he’s not interested in bringing back Liddell, who is nearly 50 years old.

“No,” White said when asked if he was interested in promoting the fight. “Chuck’s almost 50 years old. I love Chuck Liddell, but 50-year-olds shouldn’t be fighting.”

“I couldn’t do that fight. I love the guy. I love Chuck Liddell, I love him. As a friend, I don’t think he should fight. And anybody around him who cares about him shouldn’t let him fight either.”

On top of White’s red flags around bringing Liddell back to the Octagon, its been nearly a decade since Liddell fought, when he was knocked out cold by Rich Franklin at UFC 115.
