Both faced off against Tommy Fury and Dillon Danis, respectively, on October 14th, 2023, with the build-up promising an action-packed fight. John Fury infamously slammed his head against the glass cage, just as Fury and KSI faced off. Elsewhere, Paul and Danis threw objects at each other during their presser.
Paul retaliated by throwing a PRIME bottle at the fighter after he had been posting about his fiancée, Nina Agdal, throughout the build-up. In response, Danis hit Paul with a microphone. That had raised the expectations that both fights would deliver an action-packed performance. However, Fury won by a unanimous-decision in a fight where both boxers threw very little. As for Danis, he was disqualified for attempting MMA moves. As a consequence, White questioned the veracity of the PPV numbers.
Dana White scoffs at KSI vs. Tommy Fury and Logan Paul vs. Dillon Danis doing 1.3 million PPV buys:
— Damon Martin (@DamonMartin) November 28, 2023
“Let me tell you just how hard it is to sell 1.3 million pay-per-view buys. And if you did sell 1.3, if you sold f*cking 700,000 pay-per-view buys they’d be putting on fights fucking ten times a year. When you hear those kinds of numbers fly around the PPV world, they’re lying motherfuckers. Don’t ever believe that shit.
“You know how much f*cking money that is if they cut a deal and did 1.3 million pay-per-view buys?… I like Logan and some of the guys involved in this s*it. If you come out and say that you did 1.3 million pay-per-view buys, you’re lying through your f*cking teeth. Lying through your teeth,” White said
