UFC CEO Dana White has debunked rumors that the UFC White House event is being pushed back from the current June 14 date to June 26.
The rumors began after a report from ‘Puck News’ claimed the event was moving to June 26. The Sunday, June 14 date carries significant weight for the promotion and the venue, as it coincides with Flag Day, a day that commemorates the adoption of the flag of the US.
Moving the date would have represented a major logistical shift, especially given that the International G7 Summit in France was reportedly rescheduled specifically to avoid a conflict with the UFC card. It would also mean that the UFC card takes place on a Friday, instead of the current Sunday, which is a departure from the UFC’s usual Saturday cards. White responded by denying the rumors: “Media is so full of s—, White House fight date is the same; Sunday June 14th.”
