Dana White Explains How To Attract New Fans To UFC
UFC President Dana White gives certain criteria for the promoters to attract new fans to UFC. Since its inception in 1993, UFC hasn’t just become one of the most viewed martial organizations, but also one of the leading sports entities in the world.
Through the efforts shown by White and Fertitta brothers, the evolution of the Ultimate Fighter, and the continuous development of the product, UFC has become one of the biggest promotions in the world.
Even with the pandemic in the last couple of years, the UFC president stated that the sport saw a surge of 40% fanbase growth in 2021. Despite the numbers, White believes that the promoters should strive for more.
“Undoubtedly, the new generation of fans coming in has definitely helped the growth of UFC. It is a great sports product on TV. However, there is nothing compared to the live product of UFC,” White stated.
“As long as we continue to travel the world and bring new fighters into the UFC conversation, we will see more fans watching it. I don’t think any fan watches a fight and goes “Yea! I am not watching that fight again,” White concluded.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, traveling became limited and UFC was forced to conduct events in the serene surroundings of the Apex facility in Las Vegas.
