Dana White Endorses Elon Musk’s Defiant Stance On Hostile Sponsors

Dana White backed Elon Musk’s comments about telling advertisers to go their own way if they were unhappy with his views.

The owner of X, formerly known as Twitter, caused quite a stir when he appeared to endorse an anti-Semitic tweet. In response, Musk did apologize for his actions as he later paid a visit to Israel. However, the billionaire was scrutinized for his initial tweet following suggestions that advertisers would leave and boycott the platform. Musk was very clear about standing his ground as he told any sponsors who were not happy to leave in the most vocal manner.

“If somebody is going to try to blackmail me with advertising, blackmail me with money, go f*** yourself. Go f*** yourself. Is that clear? I hope it is,” Musk stated

White has equally been outspoken about showing sponsors the door if they attempted to coerce him into backtracking his views. The CEO of the UFC recalled one sponsor who had told him to remove content from his social media which had endorsed Donald Trump’s US presidential run in 2016. White had the chance to speak at the Republican National Convention in 2016 after Trump had asked him to, which did not go down well. In addition, White removed all Peloton bikes from the UFC Institute after they had told comedian Theo Von, who was interviewing White, to remove an interview he had done with Robert Kennedy Jr.

“So Peloton, what do they sell f****** stationary bikes? Peloton sells stationary bikes and they’ve got a problem with Robert f****** Kennedy? F*** you, Peloton. Who the f*** are they? Are you f****** kidding me? F****** Peloton calling and b****** about Robert Kennedy. Let’s see Barry McCarthy. Oh f****** Barry McCarthy looks like that guy, 100 percent. He looks like a douchebag. Do we have Pelotons in the gym? Are those Pelotons? We’re getting rid of them,” White said

That is why White understood Musk’s frustrations.

“There’s more people than just me and Elon now that feel that way. It’s like, just because you sponsor us doesn’t mean you run this business, and you’re definitely not telling me what to do. That’s a fact. That’s never going to happen, ever,” White stated
