Dana White Heaps Praise On Valentina Shevchenko’s UFC 261 Win

UFC President Dana White is in awe of Valentina Shevchenko’s UFC 261 victory.

Shevchenko put the UFC Women’s Flyweight Title on the line against Jessica Andrade. The title fight was featured on the main card of UFC 261. Shevchenko was dominant, scoring a second-round TKO finish for her fifth successful title defense.

During the UFC 261 post-fight press conference, White said he feels Shevchenko went into her title defense against Andrade with a fire lit under her (h/t MMAFighting.com).

“It’s almost like—tell me if this is how you felt tonight when she was fighting—like she was pissed. Like, she was mad that anybody could—I love this fight, because I knew Jessica Andrade was gonna show something that she hasn’t seen yet. She was gonna be in her face, she was gonna do this, she was gonna do that. And [Shevchenko] was like a f*cking demon tonight. Pissed off that anybody believed that that was possible and she looked incredible. One of the best performances of her career.”

Shevchenko is riding a seven-fight winning streak. In that span, she’s beaten Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Andrade, Jennifer Maia, Katlyn Chookagian, Liz Carmouche, Jessica Eye, and Priscila Cachoeira. Time will tell what’s next for the 125-pound titleholder.
