Dana White Hints At McGregor’s Return, Sets Up Major Event Post UFC 300

Conor McGregor’s potential return on June 29 during International Fight Week against Michael Chandler has been lauded as an intelligent move by the UFC, as Dana White dropped a massive hint over The Notorious’ return.

The anticipation to see McGregor return has been building since his 2021 loss and injury to Dustin Poirier. He confirmed it is ‘all systems go’ for a summer return, with Chandler also stating there is ‘confirmation’ over the fight. The UFC remained silent, allowing the promotional outfit to build up McGregor’s return after UFC 300 for another blockbuster event.

McGregor has kept himself in the headlines during his absence. His debut movie ‘Road House’ broke streaming records for Amazon Prime, resulting in 50 million viewers globally in the first two weeks. McGregor also became the highest-paid actor for a debut role, earning between $5 -10 million.

The Irishman, who was already the UFC’s biggest draw, has continued growing his extensive profile with the crossover fans, which has benefited the UFC. Now, White has hinted at a possible McGregor return by sharing the following video on his social media captioned ‘coming soon’.

UFC 300

The commentary team for UFC 300 will feature Jon Anik, Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier. Anik will be the lead commentator during the play-by-play segments, while Rogan and Cormier will be chief support. Megan Olivi will conduct the live reporting and backstage interviews. Din Thomas will also appear to offer insights from a coach’s point of view. To round things off, Chael Sonnen and Anthony Smith will provide analysis on the card, while Teddy Atlas also features.

The card features three title fights. Alex Pereira defends his UFC Light Heavyweight Title against Jamahal Hill. Pereira defeated Jiri Prochazka last year to win the vacant belt at UFC 295. Meanwhile, Hill gets a title shot after vacating the belt following an injury in his victory against Glover Teixeira at UFC 283. Strawweight Champion Zhang Weili takes on Yan Xiaonan in chief support, while Justin Gaethje battles Max Holloway for the BMF title. The UFC 300 card and McGregor’s potential return has gotten MMA fans talking.
