Dana White says Conor McGregor is not expected to return to the Octagon anytime soon.
McGregor has lost three of his last four fights, with his most recent outing a leg break loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021. A return bout against Michael Chandler was set for UFC 303 last year. However, McGregor withdrew with a toe injury. Since then, he’s been battling personal issues.
A civil sexual assault lawsuit filed by Nikita Hand found him liable, as he was ordered to pay her damages. McGregor still has two fights remaining on his UFC deal. That means any other fights outside of the promotion would require the UFC’s approval. White’s comments suggest fans will have to wait longer for any McGregor return.
“He’s not fighting anytime soon. I haven’t talked to him in a minute, but yeah, I don’t know. There will never be another Conor McGregor. There will be another superstar that pops up, but there will never be another Conor McGregor,” White said
