Dana White Names His MMA GOAT

UFC President Dana White named who’s on the come up as one of the greatest fighters in MMA history.

And his name is Kamaru Usman.

“Well, I’m glad you asked me that question actually,” White answered after UFC 277.

“You know, I still consider Jon Jones. It’s time to start talking about Kamaru Usman, you know? He’s one fight away from tying Anderson Silva. He already beat Jon Jones and GSP. And in his next fight if he beats Leon Edwards, he ties Anderson Silva. So, yeah he’s in the discussion.”

White reportedly switched attention over to the UFC welterweight champion after being asked where two-time bantamweight Amanda Nunes stands in line of the MMA greats.

Nunes got her revenge when she pulverized Julianna Peña to a unanimous decision win on Saturday in Dallas, Texas. She lost her double champion status when Peña submitted her in December.

As for Usman, he is scheduled to face Leon Edwards a second time on August 20. If he wins, he will tie Anderson Silva’s UFC record of 16 consecutive wins.

Overall, Usman is on a 19-fight winning streak and August 20 will mark his sixth straight title defense.

Usman has overcome the division’s finest including Colby Covington (twice), Jorge Masvidal (twice) and Gilbert Burns.
