Dana White Offered Several Alternatives To Jon Jones

Since Jon Jones vacated his light heavyweight throne, he started thinking about the heavyweight division.

He expressed the desire to fight against the heavyweight champion many times before. But Jones and the UFC could not agree on the contract.

UFC President Dana White offered Jones to fight Stipe Miocic or wait for 2022 and fight for the heavyweight title immediately. Stipe agreed to fight Jones, but it looks like Jones is not going to take a risk by sharing the octagon with the former king of heavyweight.

He posted on Twitter “Champion2022,” hinting at his decision.

It’s unknown who will be the king of a heavyweight by the time Jones’s turn comes.

On Saturday, Ciryl Gane and Derrick Lewis will find out who is the worthier opponent for Francis Ngannou. They will fight for the vacant title and, the winner will guarantee himself as the mandatory fight for the Predator.

“When [Jones] is ready to fight, we are ready to go. He’s talking about fighting at heavyweight,” White told Full Send Podcast (transcribed by Cole Shelton).

“But in the heavyweight division right now, we are going back to Houston; Derrick Lewis is taking on Ciryl Gane, and whoever wins that fight will fight Francis Ngannou. Whoever wins that fight, if Jon Jones wants to come back, he can fight one of them. Or, he can fight Stipe Miocic. Stipe has accepted that fight and will take that fight,” he added.

There are some rumors that Stipe wants to fight or leave the promotion.
