UFC CEO Dana White confirmed that 85,000 “free tickets” will be distributed for a viewing experience at The Ellipse, the 52-acre park located just south of the White House fence, for the UFC Freedom 250 event on June 14.
The event will feature the Octagon erected on the South Lawn to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States headlined by UFC Lightweight Champion Ilia Topuria vs. Justin Gaethje. The security requirements for a presidential residence means the UFC will not sell traditional tickets for the cageside seats. Attendance on the South Lawn will be capped at approximately 3,000 to 4,000 invited guests. To accommodate the millions of fans who wanted to attend, White is installing massive LED screens and a festival-style “lightning grid” at The Ellipse. Tickets for that experience will be handed out, with details forthcoming.
“The way that the White House is laid out, you’ve got the White House, you’ve got the South Lawn, and then there’s a road, and then the Ellipse. There’s a park that’s right there. We’re gonna be ticketing 85,000 people in the Ellipse, and the tickets are free, and we’ll announce how we’re gonna be giving them away soon. But you should plan on going to Washington DC for this event,” White said
