Dana White has confirmed that negotiations for a fight between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg were genuine and advanced, revealing the billionaires were even willing to pay the $150 million required hold the event at Rome’s Colosseum.
White revealed there were several hurdles for the Billionaire vs. Billionaire fight, including weight-class and rules, which ultimately led to the deal falling apart, but said he had “a blast” doing the negotiations, talking Elon and Mark daily.
“That was real. I was literally in my backyard for two weeks negotiating that fight. Those two were gonna put up the money for the Colosseum,” White
White also revealed the Colosseum’s $150 million requirement was not a standard venue fee, but a contribution toward restoring historic landmarks across Italy.
“I was literally doing conference calls with the government in Italy to do this thing in the Colosseum in Rome. For the right number, the Colosseum was going to let us do that fight there. Eventually, it started to fall apart, but while it lasted it was fun,” White
Dana’s willingness to promote the idea remains, but only under one condition: “Anybody that wants to put up the money for UFC to fight in the Colosseum, I’m in,” White
