Dana White Opens Up About Bringing Gabe Steveson Into UFC

UFC president Dana White was reportedly having a meeting with Olympic gold medalist and NCAA wrestling champion, Gable Steveson, over the weekend.

The 21-year-old wrestler has become the center of attention ever since he steam-rolled through his opponent at Tokyo Olympics 2021 to win gold. With a storyline similar to former heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, the MMA community is eager to see him in the UFC soon.

Dana White thinks it’s a good idea as well, but signing Steveson abruptly is not on his cards.

“He’ll be in town this weekend, so I think we’re going to hook up and talk. Obviously, there’s a lot of work for him to do before he can make it to the UFC but we’ll see what happens,” White told TMZ.

As of Monday, he must have met the gold medalist and the UFC fans are poised to know what went down in their meeting.
Steveson has been linked with a move to the WWE as well.

Kurt Angle has claimed that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is going to sign Steveson soon.

“I was thinking WWE, Vince McMahon is drooling right now. I think that this kid, I think he’s going to continue to wrestle amateur for another four years, probably win another gold medal,” Angle told App.com. “Then I think eventually end up in the pro wrestling business or UFC or Bellator MMA. So, the kid has an incredible future.”
