This past weekend, Dana White was asked if there were any plans for the promotion to travel back to Ireland with Ian Garry rising in the ranks and McGregor planning his return this year, and the UFC CEO replied with a very interesting answer.
While it sounds like White would love to take the UFC back to Dublin, as well as Zuffa Boxing, it doesn’t sound like there are any immediate plans to do so. White also touched on McGregor and Garry, and it is speculated he unintentionally revealed they are working on a bout between the pair by stating that “the Conor-Garry fight won’t be in Ireland”
Dana White is asked if the UFC with Conor McGregor and Ian Garry are coming back to Ireland soon:
I’d love to go back to Dublin, do a show there. And, we’re definitely taking Zuffa Boxing to Ireland too, but the Conor/Garry fight won’t be in Ireland. pic.twitter.com/uQ8cpgva2M

Garry is currently ranked No. 2 in the UFC’s welterweight division, but has carried a similar star-power energy to McGregor since he first stepped into the Octagon in 2021. Coupling Garry’s energy with ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor, who is heavily responsible for the promotion’s most successful PPV of all time when he faced Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018, could yield massive results in terms of viewership. At this time, the promotion has not confirmed a fight between McGregor and Garry.
