Dana White Praises Jake Paul: He’s The Right Guy With The Right Shtick

UFC President Dana White heaped praise on Jake Paul.

Paul is fresh off a first-round TKO victory over former Bellator and ONE Championship titleholder Ben Askren. This was a boxing match. It’s Paul’s third pro boxing victory.

Speaking to Yahoo! Sports, White responded to rapper Snoop Dogg’s claim that he placed a bet on Ben Askren and owes him $2 million (via BJPenn.com).

“Let me make it clear right here to everybody. I have never made an illegal bet, ever. I did not make an illegal bet on Saturday night. I did not bet 2 million dollars with Snoop or anybody.”

White admitted that Paul has been effective in carving out his niche in the world of boxing.

“This is the right guy with the right shtick at the right time. This guy is playing this thing perfectly. And boxing is in such a bad place, they’re doing a really good job at sucking in people to buy into this thing. And good for him.”

A report from MMAFighting claims the Paul vs. Askren did anywhere between 1.2 and 1.6 million pay-per-view buys.
