Dana White Responds To Conor Suggesting His Return Is A Done Deal

Less than a week following Conor McGregor sharing a post that suggested his return to the Octagon is official, UFC CEO Dana White shut down that claim by saying “Nothing’s done….”, but the UFC CEO did add that he’s optimistic that Conor will fight.

McGregor, who has been sidelined since breaking his leg in July 2021 while fighting Dustin Poirier, has teased his UFC return numerous times, most recently responding to reports of a summer return being true by posting “The rumors are true. Mr. Confidence returns to save fighting again! Call your grandma! Nanny, we did it!” Although White did not mention any dates and says “nothing’s even remotely close”, many feel Conor could potentially fight at the culmination of International Fight Week on July 11, 2026, especially since no headliner has been announced for the event and due to White saying Islam Makhachev will not be fighting at the July event, but will instead fight in August.

“Nothing’s done, nothing’s even remotely close to being done. I am [optimistic he’ll fight]. I was pretty optimistic at the end of last year. End of last year, going into this year, I’m still confident,” Dana said
