Between Noche UFC 2024 at the Sphere in Vegas and the more recent UFC Freedom 250 from the White House, the leading MMA promotion has garnered a reputation for monumental one-off events, and it sounds like there could be more to come in the future.
Noche UFC, aka UFC 306, was the first combat sports event to take place from the Las Vegas Sphere, and UFC CEO Dana White was on record immediately afterward saying that will be their only event in the spectacle of a venue. The event featured haptic seating that reacted to certain in fight instances and high-quality graphic videos presented on displays that simply cannot be matched in standard arenas, but also came at an extreme cost. UFC Freedom 250 back in June from the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, D.C., was obviously another onetime occasion given the high-profile nature of the location.
Despite these particular events being labeled as ‘unrepeatable’, the UFC seems committed to continuing to raise the stakes for future UFC mega-events. On a recent podcast appearance, Dana White went into detail and even indicated that something is already in the stages of early conception.
“Now my head of production Craig Borsari is so cocky after he absolutely killed that [UFC White House] event, we are talking about something right now that he came up with. This was his idea, and I love it. I have to do some more groundwork on it.”
“There will never be anything like the White House again,” White said. “That night, we already had high expectations for it and I was blown away. It’s the greatest thing that I’ve ever been a part of. Being there live was amazing.”
