Dana White Thinks Aljamain Sterling-Petr Yan Result Should Be ‘Other Way’
Some people thought that Petr Yan did enough to dethrone Aljamain Sterling and finish the unfinished business.
Even UFC President Dana White said he had Sterling and Yan’s rematch result the other way around.
“I thought the judges blew that one,” White said.
“I had it 3-2 the other way. I don’t know how you guys scored it, but I guess it’s all in how you score that first round.”
In the UFC 273 co-main event, Sterling dominated on the ground. Meanwhile the fourth and fifth rounds were close, but Yan did a better job.
However, the first round was so close that it was hard to judge. People think that Yan earned that round because of the controlling center, too, but Sterling was working more in that round.
Yan was disqualified in their first bout after being disqualified for landing an illegal knee. Sterling was named the bantamweight champion as a result then.
Yan wanted the trilogy fight with Sterling, but Sterling called out TJ Dillashaw.
If that’s the case, a matchup between Yan and Merab Dvalishvili could make sense.
