Dana White To Announce UFC 300 Main Event On Saturday

Dana White will confirm the headline event for UFC 300 on Saturday.

With two months to go before the event on April 13, several big-name fighters appear unlikely to feature. Dricus Du Plessis distanced himself from making the card, stating he was not 100 percent following his bout with Sean Strickland, which won him the UFC Middleweight Title.

Jon Jones also rejected the chance to headline, revealing he would not be ready following his injury, which forced him to pull out of his UFC 295 title defense against Stipe Miocic. Tom Aspinall was also mentioned in the conversation to take on Alex Pereira, but the Brit has yet to have any confirmation, leaving MMA fans none the wiser. But White will make an announcement this weekend.

“There are so many twists and turns, and crazy f***ing shit going on behind the scenes of UFC 300… Jon Jones is not involved. We have one more slot to fill mid-level, and then we have the main event… I know what I’m trying to do [for the main event], but what I’m trying to do and what’s gonna happen could end up being two completely different things. Unless I completely f***ing change everything. It’s fascinating. There could actually be a documentary right now being shot of behind the scenes to build UFC 300. That’s all I’m going to say,” White said
