Dana White Urges Trump To Change Gambling Tax Law

UFC CEO Dana White has sent his long-time friend, President Donald Trump a letter requesting he amend the new gambling tax law.

The law reduced the allowable tax deduction on gambling losses from 100% to 90%, which means that individuals who break even or lose money, could still owe taxes. White’s primary concern is that the reduced deduction will push gamblers away from licensed markets and toward unregulated alternatives, undermining efforts to maintain a transparent and secure betting environment.

White also flagged wider economic concerns, suggesting reduced gambling activity could reduce spending more broadly while harming businesses such as the UFC, because legal sports betting drives fan engagement, broadcast value and revenue. Efforts to restore the full deduction have so far stalled in Congress without reaching a final vote.
