Dana White was in attendance at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner during the active shooter incident that unfortunately took place over the weekend, and the UFC CEO shared his reaction with reporters immediately following.
White, who was there as a guest of the President, has been a long-time friend of Donald Trump and seemed genuinely excited to be a part of things on Saturday as he arrived on the red carpet, discussing ‘UFC Freedom 250‘ along the way. And while the evening took an unexpected turn, White’s excitement didn’t seem to fade in the moments after as he discussed his side of how things went down during the (hopefully) once in a lifetime experience.
Luckily, during the shooting, no one was fatally wounded, although a member of the Secret Service team that was involved in the early parts of the incident was shot, but is expected to make a full recovery.
“It started getting noisy, tables started flipping over, guys running in with guns, and they were screaming ‘Get down. I didn’t get down. I literally took every minute of it in, and it was a pretty crazy, unique experience,” White
Given the violent nature of the incident, many are now speculating how measures could change to ensure another doesn’t occur on the South Lawn of the White House on June 14th at ‘UFC Freedom 250’. The monumental event is now less than two months away, and while plans are surely beginning to lock in, this could change things from a security standpoint, and rumors have already begun surrounding the amount spectators allowed at the temporary venue.
