Dana: Yamasaki Should Never Ref in UFC Again

Perhaps the most talked about moment of UFC Belem was not Lyoto Machida’s win or his call-out of Michael Bisping, but rather the co-main event between Valentina Shevchenko, making her flyweight debut, and UFC newcomer Priscila Cachoeira — and particularly its referee, Mario Yamasaki.

Shevchenko put on an absolutely dominating performance, with Cachoeira submitting to a rear-naked choke late in the second round. But at that point, Cachoeira had taken more damage than necessary in the minds of almost everyone in the MMA community. The final strike tally saw Shevchenko outland her opposition 230-3.

As reported by MMA Fighting, outrage against Yamasaki poured out all over social media from MMA media to UFC personnel.

But arguably one of the most prominent social media rants against Yamasaki came from the UFC president himself, Dana White. He took to Instagram to post his message, and he stated a strong opinion on Yamasaki’s future in the UFC.
