After a three-year hiatus, Jon “Bones” Jones returned to the UFC octagon with a bang as he beat Ciryl Gane on his heavyweight debut to add another title to his star-studded resume.
Many MMA experts, including UFC commentator Joe Rogan, called Jones “the GOAT” after he submitted Gane with ease in the third minute of the opening round of the UFC 285 main event.
Jones made it look easier than most people were expecting, and he is now expected to lock horns with former heavyweight king Stipe Miocic.
The recent win moved Jones from #10 to #1 in the male pound-for-pound rankings within a week.

Previously, lightweights Alexander Volkanovski and Islam Makhachev were in the discussion for the P4P top spot, but things have drastically changed in favor of Jones and Daniel Cormier doesn’t like it.
He said: “I don’t, in my opinion, believe he (Jones) should be number one pound-for-pound. I think Alexander Volkanovski should still stay there. I don’t think he should be the number one pound-for-pound fighter in the world.”
Cormier shares a long history with Jones, whom he met twice inside the ring, and also commentated the Gane vs Jones fight alongside Rogan and Jon Anik.
