Danny Garcia Feels At Home Being Underdog Against Errol Spence Jr.
Danny Garcia realizes he’s the underdog going into his fight with Errol Spence Jr. and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
Garcia will challenge Spence for the WBC and IBF Welterweight Titles. The title fight will take place on December 5. It’ll be held inside AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Fans will be allowed in attendance at a reduced capacity.
Ahead of the fight, Garcia had a virtual workout session. After the workout, Garcia was interviewed by PBC on FOX host Ray Flores. “Swift” made it clear that he embraces the underdog role ahead of the showdown with Spence (via BoxingScene.com).
“When I’m not the underdog, I don’t feel right. I’m right where I want to be… this is definitely the energy I like. It’s the chip I like to have on my shoulder. It’s like I’m proving myself all over again.”
Garcia will have a tall task in front of him in Spence, who is undefeated with a record of 26-0. Garcia is no stranger to championship fights, however. He is a former WBC and WBA (Super) Champion. He has mixed it up with some of boxing’s very best such as Shawn Porter and Keith Thurman. Time will tell if an upset is brewing.
Spence vs. Garcia will air live on PBC on FOX PPV and on FIGHT SPORTS in over 30 countries worldwide.
