Despite the fact that there will only be one person who can win a world title, David Benavidez will look to prove he is still a dominant star. Inside the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT, Benavidez will face off against Roamer Alexis Angulo.

Making his boxing debut in 2013, Benavidez (22-0) beat Ronald Gavril for the vacant WBC Super-Middleweight Title. He would end up winning the rematch against him to retain the belt. The 23-year-old would win a bout against J’Leon Love and would then beat Anthony Dirrell via TKO back in September.

Benavidez will not be the champion during this fight, and cannot win the title. This is after he came into the weigh-ins a few pounds over the limit. This is not the first time Benavidez was stripped of the belt. He tested positive for drugs in 2018 and received a four-month suspension by VADA. He returned in March 2019 and would beat Dirrell to win the title back.

Angulo (26-1) is on a three-fight win streak. The 36-year-old won his last bout against Anthony Sims Jr. via split decision. With 22 wins via knockout, this will be his second time fighting for super-middleweight gold; he lost to Gilberto Ramirez for the WBO Super-Middleweight Title in 2018. Since he made weight (167.6), Angulo will be able to win the title.

Also on the card will be Otto Wallin taking on Travis Kauffman. Wallin (20-1, 1NC) last fought in September, almost beating lineal heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury. The 29-year-old cut Fury above his eye, which was deep enough that the fight almost got called. Wallin ended up losing via unanimous decision.

Kauffman (32-3) is 2-2 in his last four fights and is coming off of a loss against former title contender Luis Ortiz back in 2018. He has not fought since then, as he was healing from shoulder surgery. If he loses, Kauffman has promised he would retire.
