David Morrell Jr. Calls Out The ‘Mexican Monster’ Benavidez – ‘Where Is He?’

David Morrell Jr. has called out David Benavidez following his savage first-round knockout of Yamaguchi Falcao.

Morrell Jr. was the co-main-event attraction on the Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia card, and he did not waste any time putting the whole 168-lb division on notice.

He pummelled Falcao with sustained combinations, flooring him to the canvas as the referee waved off the fight following a vicious right hook.

While Falcao was a late replacement, the fact of the matter is that Morrell Jr. dispatched a former Olympic medalist in swift fashion. And in doing so, he subjected Falcao to his first-ever stoppage in five years.

Thereafter, Morrell Jr. called out Benavidez in what would be a mega clash against the ‘Mexican Monster.’

“David Benavidez is next. Where is he? I want to fight Benavidez. He’s next, 100%. I don’t want any other guys at 168-pounds. Just Benavidez.

“I respect Benavidez and his team, but inside the ring, I don’t respect anything,” Morrell Jr

And yet, the chances of this happening next may be slim. Following Benavidez’s victory over Caleb Plant, the ‘Mexican Monster’ may be keen to target Canelo Alvarez for the undisputed title, especially if the latter cannot agree a rematch with Dmitry Bivol.

Not only that, but Morrell Jr. is inexperienced at the highest level, despite his impressive knockout ratio (9-0, 8 KOs).

However, at a time where undefeated fighters are putting their record on the line as shown by Davis vs. Garcia, the time may be right.

And by the looks of it, the demand is there amongst the fan base.
