David Price Calls Out Anthony Joshua

While boxing fans have been anticipating a heavyweight title fight between Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko, they are gearing up for disappointment as the fight appears to be falling through. With Joshua in need of a new opponent for Dec. 10, David Price has thrown his name in the ring.

The British heavyweight last fought on Oct. 1, defeating  Ivica Perkovic in the second round on the undercard of Nathan Cleverly’s win over Juergan Braehmer.

This week, Price took to Twitter to challenge IBF champion Anthony Joshua.

"I’m coming to knock you out December 10," Price wrote. "Done it before and I’ll do it again."

According to Boxing News Online, Price claims to have knocked Joshua down during a 2011 sparring session.

Price is currently the 12th ranked heavyweight in the IBF. Assuming the Klitschko-Joshua fight falls through as it is expected to, Price may be a likely choice for Joshua’s next title defense.

The British heavyweight holds a 2006 amateur victory over Tyson Fury, who responded to Price’s tweet:
