Davis And Garcia Trade Blows In Final Presser – ‘Don’t Bring Your Mother, I’ll Break Your Jaw’

Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia held their final press conference on April 20th, 2023, as they gear up for their bout on April 22nd, 2023, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The undefeated fighters put it all on the line, with the victor knowing that they will become a pay-per-view star and take hold of the title, ‘the face of boxing.’

Meanwhile, David Morrell Jr. is set to protect his world super-middleweight title against Sena Agbeko, while Bektemir Melikuziev aims to avenge his defeat against Gabriel Rosado.

Additionally, Kevin Zambrano faces Elijah Garcia. With that being said, the fighters had plenty to say a day before the weight in, letting their opponents know that they were ready for war.

Gervonta Davis Vs. Ryan Garcia

On his preparations: “[I’m] staying focused, preparing for today. I know there is a big task at hand. But I know I’m going to come out victorious…And I’m ready to do what I do.

“Like you say, ‘we do what we do.’ Well I’m ready to do what I do. And I’m going to end him. I promise you that, it’s over. That’s all I gotta say,” Garcia.

On his mindset: “We are here. Enough with the talking. I’m ready to get down and dirty baby. I’m from Baltimore city and you’ll see…come Saturday. See ya’ll then.”

On Garcia’s aim to KO him: “[He’s] delusional. That’s it. Put the money up. He’s going to feel me, for sure, he’s going to feel me…He’ll see come Saturday night for sure,” Davis

On Garcia’s chin: “I touch that jaw, you’re probably going to sleep. I promise you. Once I touch that jaw, you’re going to sleep.

“I’ll probably break your jaw. Facts…Don’t even bring your mother, or your daughter. Don’t bring them,” Davis

On his opponent: “You’re delusional about your defence. Gamboa had you bruised up. Can you look at the truth for once,” Garcia.

Elijah Garcia Vs. Kevin Zambrano

On what to expect: “I think they are going to see an explosive fight. I believe [Salgado] is a great opponent.

“But I’m going to push the pace and you know someone is going to get knocked out. It’s going to be an inside fight, and we’ll see what happens.

His aim: “My goal is to be a champion when I’m 21. If it comes sooner then I am ready, but at the moment we are just taking it one step at a time,” Garcia

On the fight: “The one that is going to be knocked out is Elijah.”

On his approach: “I don’t care how young he is, I don’t care how ambitious he is. All I know is that I’m going to go in the ring and get that victory and be on my way,” Zambrano

Gabriel Rosado Vs. Bektemir Melikuziev

On his motivation: “I feel like he thinks that knockout was a fluke, so you know, I just wanna prove him wrong.

“It’s going to be the same outcome man. We are going in there, we are locked in. We had a great training camp. You know I feel amazing,” Rosado

Why the outcome will differ: “This is boxing. A mistake was made, a lesson was learnt. No mistakes are going to happen this time,” Melikuziev

David Morrell Jr Vs.Yamaguchi Falcao

On his aims: “People should know that [I] am an Olympic-gold medalist. People should know that [I] am very talented.

“And they should also know that I am here to make history, to shock the world and to leave my imprint in Vegas on Saturday night to let the whole world know that I have arrived,” Falcao

On stopping his opponent/facing the big names: “I’m ready. I’m telling everybody, everyday that I’m ready for everybody at 168 lbs, so I am here,” Morrell Jr
