Davis-Ruiz Peaks At 486K Viewers

Gervonta Davis’ did a better than expected audience, when an average of 429,000 viewers witnessed his first round knockout of Hugo Ruiz.

While the number would undoubtedly be larger if Davis’ initial opponent, Abner Mares, had been able to fight, but the former world champion would be pulled leading up to fight night due to a detached retina.

The makeshift headliner of the February 9th card from Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California would see a peak audience of 486,000 viewers during the nine-minutes occupied by Davis-Ruiz entrance, fight, and exit.

The card’s co-main event would see 349,000 average viewers, as Mario Barrios would drop Richard Zamora in the fourth round to remain undefeated

Showtime’s opening fight would feature Javier Fortuna score an ugly decision over Sharif Bogere in ten-rounds for an average of 275,000 viewers.
