De La Hoya Confident Canelo Will KO GGG

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya, is confident that Canelo Alvarez will end the fight before the scorecards in his rematch against Gennady Golovkin on May 5th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The rematch for the WBC, IBO, WBA, IBF middleweight titles comes from a controversial draw between Alvarez and Golovkin in September 2017, and now both men are looking to finish the fight.

In a piece published by Boxing Scene, De La Hoya is happy that Alvarez gets not only an opportunity to redeem a victory they both feel he was robbed of, and confident that Alvarez will leave Golovkin on the mat.

“I would have really wished for a rematch against Felix Trinidad. I would have loved to have knocked him out in the last three rounds instead of boxing. We don’t always get rematches of this magnitude, so that’s why this fight is special. On May 5, we will get an explosive rematch, and I believe Canelo will knock him out,” De La Hoya said.
