As Oscar De La Hoya makes a move into the MMA game, the Golden Boy Promotions CEO has told many that he’s looking to do something new.
De La Hoya has signed Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz to fight one another for a third time this fall, under the Golden Boy MMA Banner, and is looking to corner the market on those looking for an opportunity.
“I’m really looking forward to getting involved with MMA and building a new business,” De La Hoya said.
“If any fighter who is an MMA fighter wants to explore a different avenue, come knock on our door, give us a call. I’m really excited about starting Golden Boy MMA. When we do things, we do them right, just like we’ve done with boxing.”
This would be De La Hoya’s second entry into the sport, as he was a part of the shot lived Affliction MMA brand, and heads into a space dominated by the UFC, followed up by Bellator MMA, and the PFL.
