Tim Elliott Wins TUF 24,Will Face Johnson

Demitrious Johnson officially has an opponent for Saturday night’s The Ultimate Fighter 24 finale. Tim Elliott won his place in the bout Wednesday night with a win over Hiromasa Ogikubo on TUF, and will challenge Johnson for the 125-pound title.

The victory marks Elliott ‘s return to the UFC after exiting the promotion following three losses in 2015. The fighting veteran earned his way back with three wins in a row outside the UFC, highlighted by his capturing the flyweight title in Titan Fighting Championships.

Elliott dominated The Ultimate Fighter, winning four consecutive fights, including victories over Charlie Alaniz, Matt Schnell, and Eric Shelton.

Johnson poses a tougher test however, as the flyweight champion, who currently sitting atop the pound-for-pound rankings in the UFC, will be seeking his ninth consecutive win.

Johnson vs. Elliott will co-headline Saturday’s live card on FS1 along with a battle of the season’s coaches pitting Joseph Benavidez against Henry Cejudo.
