Demetrius Andrade & Liam Williams Reach Terms To Avoid Purse Bid
A purse bid will not be necessary for Demetrius Andrade vs. Liam Williams.
Andrade is the WBO Middleweight Champion. Williams is the mandatory title challenger. A report surfaced claiming that the WBO was expected to call for a purse bid as the 15-day negotiation period between Andrade and Williams had passed. As it turns out, things were ultimately settled.
Taking to his Twitter account, Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn revealed that terms for Andrade vs. Williams have been agreed to.

Andrade has been perfect in his pro boxing career thus far, going 29-0. He’s scored 18 knockout victories along the way. This will be Andrade’s fourth WBO Middleweight Title defense. Andrade last fought back in January 2020, finishing Luke Keeler via ninth-round TKO.
Up to this point, Williams has amassed a pro boxing record of 23-2-1. In 18 of those wins, Williams has scored the knockout. “The Machine” is riding a seven-fight winning streak. In his last outing back in October 2020, Williams scored a first-round knockout victory over Andrew Robinson. He retained his British Middleweight Title in the fight.
