Deontay Wilder Does Media Workout Ahead Of Title Eliminator Vs. Robert Helenius
Deontay Wilder is back in the ring – but on Thursday, it was for a media workout.
Wilder came out looking in good shape – according to fans’ comments — and took the time to display his punching power at the PBC live event.
“I’m feeling great,” Wilder said.
“It’s been a journey for me – a good one at that.”
Wilder has been training at the UFC APEX for a week now. He’s also spent some time training in his hometown of Alabama.
Wilder, the former WBC heavyweight champion, makes his return on October 15 against heavyweight contender Robert Helenius at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
It’ll mark “The Bronze Bomber’s” first fight since losing by TKO to now WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury in a trilogy matchup back in October 2021.
Helenius has been on a winning streak, earning back-to-back victories against Adam Kownacki.
Wilder – like Fury – flirted with retirement, but ultimately came back and said that he credits Helenius to be a good fighter.
