Deontay Wilder Or Andy Ruiz Jr. Will Fight For WBC Title

Deontay Wilder or Andy Ruiz Jr. will reportedly battle for the WBC heavyweight title next year, regardless of the presence of the current champion, Tyson Fury.

Despite Fury’s attempts to stage a voluntary with Anthony Joshua, and then face Oleksandr Usyk afterwards, his sudden return to the ring after retirement has blew up Al Haymon’s plans for a tournament for the WBC title.

This could make it so he has to face either Wilder or Ruiz first before he could face AJ or Usyk, meaning two mandatories will be overdue.
Fury could possibly walk away entirely.

That fight can possibly not occur, and a victory by The Gypsy King against AJ would mean a step-aside deal would have to be reached.
