Former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder is picking unified champion Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) to once again defeat Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) in their rematch, which is taking place on August 20th in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Deontay has not officially stated who he has chosen Usyk as the winner, but many people in the world of Boxing feel that he is more level headed and has better conditioning.
“I’m going with Usyk here man. A lot of people are,” said Deontay Wilder to ESNEWS. “It’s boxing, and the world will see. My pick is Usyk”
“He’s calm; they both are. They’re both very experienced fighters, and I don’t think anything is going to phase them, especially Oleksandr Usyk. It’s going to come down to August 20th and who can execute the right game plan on the night,” said Deontay.
Deontay was also asked whether or not he would be willing to return to the ring.
“I may come back; I may not. I’m having such a great time outside of the ring,” Wilder said when asked when he’s returning to boxing to resume his career. “You have to understand that I make more money outside of the ring than in it.”
