Dereck Chisora Says Goodbye To Boxing

Dereck Chisora will not fight in the ring again as the “Del Boy,” claiming that he is done with the sport.

This past July, the British heavyweight Derek Chisora avenged his loss against Kubrat Pulev at O2 Arena, Greenwich. The pair met for the first time in 2016 when Pulev pulled off a famous victory over his counterpart via a split decision after a late surge in the fight.

And this time, it was no different as it was another closely contested duel but it was Chisora who came out on top and settled the score eventually. It was a special win for the 38-year-old as he was unsuccessful in all of his previous three outings.

After the fight, Chisora didn’t mention clearly whether he will continue fighting or not.

But it seems like he has seen the end of his professional career as the ‘Del Boy’ remarked during an interview that he is officially retired. Chisora said this while attending Joe Joyce vs Joseph Parker.

“I am retired!” when asked will the fans see you in the ring anytime soon.

Chisora has given similar sorts of statements before as well but knowing Chisora’s mood swings, there is every possibility that we will see ‘War’ back in the action soon.

Chisora was also seen having a verbal spat with the WBC Heavyweight Champ, Tyson Fury during the event. Chisora accused that Fury ducked him after inviting him for a bare-knuckle fight. The ‘Del Boy’ also made fun of Parker following his loss who also happen to be Fury’s training partner lately.

Chisora and Fury have met two times in the ring before and on both occasions, Fury easily got the better of the former.

Fury vs Chisora III was probably on the cards at some point until the UK publicly dismissed the fight out of hand.
