Derek Brunson Vs. Dricus Du Plessis Added To UFC 285
Brunson was supposed to fight at UFC Orlando, but withdrew due to an injury.
Derek Brunson is looking to bounce back from his last knockout loss.
Brunson is reportedly booked to face No. 10-ranked middleweight Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 285, which is expected to take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
By the time of the event, it’ll already be a year since Brunson has been in action.
His last outing was in February 2022 where he was knocked out by Jared Cannonier in the second round of a title eliminator. But before that, Brunson was on a five-fight winning streak, which includes victories over Darren Till, Kevin Holland, Edmen Shahbazyan, Ian Heinisch and Elias Theodorou.
Brunson (23-8) is currently the fifth-ranked middleweight.
Du Plessis (18-2) is undefeated in all four of his fights under the UFC banner.
He scored the biggest win of his career when he submitted Darren Till in the third round of their UFC 282 bout on December 10.
Before joining the UFC, Du Plessis also fought in EFC and KSW. At KSW, he became the welterweight champion by knocking out Roberto Soldic.
