Derrick Lewis-Alexey Oleinik Heavyweight Clash Reportedly Set For August 8 UFC Card
A legendary fighter in MMA will do battle against a durable brawler this summer. ESPN was the first to report that Aleksei Oleinik will face off against Derrick Lewis on August 8. The event is being reported for Las Vegas, but “Fight Island” is also an option.
Oleynik (59-13-1) is currently on a two-fight win streak. “The Boa Constrictor” has fought twice in 2020; he beat Maurice Green via submission at UFC 246 in January and beat Fabricio Werdum via split decision at UFC 249 in May. The 42-year-old Russian is a multiple-time Sambo champion and has won multiple tournaments, with a career dating back to 1996.
The veteran signed his fight contract in the most unique of ways.

Lewis (23-7, 1 NC) is coming off of a win against Ilir Latifi back in February. He is also on a two-fight win streak. The former UFC Heavyweight Title contender was considering retiring from the sport but will continue fighting in order for this exciting matchup to happen.
As of this moment, no other bouts have been assigned for this fight card.
