Lewis (25-7, 1 NC) is currently the No. 3 ranked heavyweight in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings against Gane, who is tied with Curtis Blaydes at No. 4. Lewis, of Houston, is coming off a four-fight winning streak; his latest is a KO/TKO victory over Curtis Blaydes.
He fell short at his other title chance in a second-round submission defeat against Daniel Cormier for the undisputed title at UFC 230 in November 2018.
Gane (9-0) has been training in MMA for just three years, but has since notched a 6-0 record in the UFC. The French fighter recently defeated Alexander Volkov in a unanimous decision.
In the co-main event, bantamweight contenders Jose Aldo and Pedro Munhoz also made weight at 136 and 135 pounds, respectively.
Manel Kape missed weight by three pounds for his contracted flyweight fight against Ode Osbourne. As a penalty, he will forfeit 20% of his purse to Osbourne and the bout will proceed at a catchweight.
