Derrick Lewis Expected To Return In December Vs. Chris Daukaus

Derrick Lewis will be hoping to end this year on a high note after his disappointing TKO loss to current No.1 title contender Ciryl Gane at UFC 265 where he was manhandled by the latter.

As per ESPN and the UFC president Dana White, Lewis (25-8) will soon have an opportunity to make a comeback in the octagon after his recent demise. He’ll be returning against rising heavyweight prospect Chris Daukaus (12-3).

The tentative date for the fight is December 18, but this is supposed to be changed as Daukaus’ management has requested more time for the preparation.

Hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Daukaus is yet to lose in the UFC, holding a perfect record of 4-0 in the organization. All his victories have come by the way of knockout.

Daukaus is coming fresh off a KO victory against Russian Shamil Abdurakhimov at UFC 266. In his previous outings in the UFC, the Philadelphian outsmarted all his opponents, landing big shots and finishing the fights in the first round.

His possible next opponent, Lewis is well familiar with this art and holds a record of his own for the most knockouts by heavyweight in the UFC.

Here’s the expected fight card for the December 18 event:

  • Derrick Lewis vs. Chris Daukaus.
  • Raphael Assuncao vs. Ricky Simon
  • Amanda Lemos vs. Nina Nunes
  • Anthony Hernandez vs. Dustin Stoltzfus
