Devin Haney Again Outclasses George Kambosos Jr. In Rematch
Devin Haney once again proved too much for the former champ George Kambosos Jr. as the American outshined his counterpart inside Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne.
In a contractual rematch, Haney met Kambosos Jr. for the second time in a row in his own backyard in Australia. And just like the last altercation between the two, the Nevada native kept Kambosos Jr. at bay during the whole fight.
Haney didn’t put a foot wrong from the starting bell, landing firm jabs at the head of the Australian. Kambosos Jr. came out firing on all cylinders, landing a few combinations of his own. But it didn’t last long.
“The Ferocious” Kambosos wanted to prove a point, but Haney with his superior offence and flawless defense gave Kambosos Jr. no chance and out-schooling him at will during the 12 rounds.
It was a picture-perfect performance by Haney.
His Floyd Mayweather-esque defense was the highlight of the whole evening, bouncing Kambosos’ head back and forth with his counter right every now and then.
Following the fight, Haney has indicated that he is ready for whoever is next.
“We’re taking on all comers. No matter who it is, we want to fight the best fighters in the world. I believe I’m the best fighter in the world. Whoever it is next, bring them on,” Haney stated after the fight.
