Devin Haney Only Has One Option Says Tim Bradley

Tim Bradley says Devin Haney’s (33-0, 15 KOs) options have narrowed considerably following Oscar De La Hoya’s confirmation that Ryan Garcia is in talks to fight Conor Benn — and believes Haney now has no choice but to face mandatory challenger Keyshawn Davis.

“Guess who called me? Conor Benn’s people, they got in contact with him. Ryan Garcia and Conor Benn — they talking about it. They talking about getting it on,” Bradley

With a Garcia rematch looking increasingly unlikely, Bradley sees only one path forward for the WBO welterweight champion.

“You can’t vacate that title, bro. You’re gonna look like a sucker, bro. If somebody’s chasing you like that, you want to get to them before they get to you. Now your only option is Keyshawn Davis. That’s your only option. Who it gonna be? Who else do you got?,” Bradley

The WBO has already ordered Haney to defend against Davis, though Haney has repeatedly been linked to higher-profile, bigger-money alternatives. With Garcia now pointed elsewhere, Bradley argues the mandatory can no longer be avoided. If Haney decides to fight someone other than Keyshawn, he will have to vacate or be stripped of the belt.
