Devin Haney Vs. Vasiliy Lomachenko Confirmed For May 20th

On May 20th, 2023, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Devin Haney will be putting his undisputed lightweight titles on the line against Vasiliy Lomachenko.

At the age of 24, Haney, who has a record of 29-0 with 15 KOs, will be defending his undisputed champion status for the second time.

He defeated George Kambosos Jr., who held three belts, in a unification fight in Melbourne, Australia, while holding the WBC title.

He won the fight convincingly and followed it up with an equally-comprehensive performance in the rematch.

As for Lomachenko, following his defeat to Teofimo Lopez, concerns arose about whether the Ukrainian fighter would return to his previous form.

He showed some promise in his last fight by defeating Jamaine Ortiz via a unanimous decision, even if it was tougher than expected.

But now that the agreement has been signed, both fighters are keen on making further history.

Fighters’ Reaction

“This is the fight the fans really want, and I made it happen. I’ve gotten two times better since the Kambosos rematch, and believe it or not, the better my opponent is, the better I perform. I can’t wait for this fight. I know Lomachenko has an extremely high boxing IQ, and I will show the world on May 20 that I’m the best fighter on the planet,” Haney

“My goal is to become the undisputed lightweight champion, and Devin Haney is the man with the belts. I respect his boxing IQ and am excited for this challenge,” Lomachenko
